All of our horses have been given second chances, we believe this makes them better therapy horses. Most of our horses have been given to us due to injury, being unwanted, health problems or behavioural and training issues.

A lot of time, effort and money goes into to ensuring our horses receive the best education and the best life possible. Some take more work than others to equip them to be ready to work with people.

Our horses welfare is paramount, all sponsor money goes directly to paying for the horses and ensuring they are happy and healthy.

Giving our horses adequate feed, training and necessities costs us about £1500 a month. Your sponsorship money really helps towards this. We thank you so much.

Our Sponsors get a thank you letter, updates and a t-shirt.

T-Shirt options:

Child- Small Medium Large

Adults - Small Medium Large Extra Large

Colours- Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White, Purple, Navy

*please note we don't currently have space for any more horses.

Business Sponsorships also available, contact us for more details.

I'm Trevor

Trevor is an  ex race horse, who successfully raced until he was 12 years old winning  a lot of money for his owners at the time. He is the most experienced member of our herd and keeps all he young ones in line. Trevor has overcome past emotional trauma and  an injury and due to his injury he now does therapy work and the odd light hack. Trevor was the reason Spirit and Soul started. RIP beautiful boy.

I'm George

George has had a difficult life, he has seen the darker sides of people and was sent through a 'dodgy horse auction' years back due to his issues.  Having previously been beaten with metal poles its unbelievable how he lets people touch him. He has previously been described as "stressy and with numerous issues" however George has really settled here at Spirit and Soul.

I’m Foxy

Foxy  is a Shetland mare with a big personality. This little lady certainly has the cuteness factor and doesn't she know it.  Her favourite pastime is eating. Foxy came to us with behavioural problems, whilst she still has her moments, she is like a different pony now.

I'm Suzie

She's a very sensitive girl but a real sweetheart. Suzie has had a difficult past and has been passed around a lot, having had various foals and being a "difficult horse" to ride means she isn't a childs riding horse and so she's been sold on various times. Suzie has found her home here at Spirit and Soul and was kindly donated by her last owners, knowing that she will have a lovely home.

I'm Linnet

Linnet has had very limited experience with people and was wild on the Wicken Fen for the first part of her life. She was given a home through the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust as a conservation 'lawn mower'' however due to unforeseen circumstances had to be rehomed. Linnet has a very cheeky personality and is a real crow pleaser.

I'm Loki

Loki is an ex race horse who only finished racing in May 2016. Unfortunately racing wasn't his forte, he didn't like it and wasn't particularly fast so lost all the races he ran. Upon meeting Loki we were blown away by his  kind nature. We knew there and then that he should be part of our herd. Loki came to use with an injury, however he is now fully healed.
